The day I skipped leg day and didn't feel bad about it

EFFORT  rest

Woke up today with the same lower back pain that started yesterday afternoon. Leg day — my favourite day of the week — and the decision to skip it entirely wasn’t even hard to make. It made itself.

Took something to ease the pain enough to sit at this laptop and get through the day’s work. No gym. No run. A complete, deliberate rest.

I’ve written a lot in this journal about resisting the itch to run, about choosing rest even when it’s uncomfortable to choose it. Today wasn’t really a test of that discipline — the body made the decision for me, loudly. But I think that’s worth writing down too: sometimes the lesson isn’t “hold back when you feel good.” Sometimes it’s just “listen when something says stop, and don’t argue with it.”

The pain’s easing. I’ll take that as a good sign and give it the time it needs before deciding what comes next.
